Review by hotel critic
My recent stay at Nakamuraya Ryokan in Sapporo was a delightful blend of traditional Japanese charm and modern comfort. The ryokan's proximity to Hokkaido University Botanic Garden and the Former Hokkaido Government Office Building made it a great base for exploring the city. The room was impeccably maintained, with tatami floors and cozy Japanese futon bedding that ensured a peaceful night's sleep. The private bathroom with a deep bathtub and complimentary toiletries added a touch of luxury to the experience. One of the highlights was the communal bath area, where I could unwind and relax after a day of sightseeing. The spacious 24-hour public bath was a tranquil haven, perfect for rejuvenating both body and mind. The staff, despite their limited English proficiency, were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to assist with any requests.Being a food enthusiast, I couldn't miss the authentic Japanese breakfast served in the cozy dining room. From the freshly prepared rice with egg to the traditional Japanese dishes, every meal was a culinary delight that immersed me in the rich flavors of Japan. In conclusion, Nakamuraya Ryokan truly lived up to its reputation as a 3-star gem in the heart of Sapporo City Centre. With its blend of historic charm, modern amenities, and impeccable service, it's a must-visit for travelers seeking a genuine taste of Japanese hospitality. I highly recommend this ryokan for a memorable and culturally enriching experience in Sapporo.
